L'atelier pour enfants animé par Julie Eugène

Voici le résultat : 2 livres collectifs, inspirés des albums de Julie Eugène (Matous Partout et L'ABC des chiens), illustrés par les enfants et quelques adultes participants.

De jolis livres qui sont pour l'instant en circulation à l'école de Parisot (ateliers financés par l'APE de l'école) puis ils seront en consultation à la médiathèque de Parisot.

Le discours d'un adjoint au maire lors de l'apéritif...

puis l'on se retrouve autour d'une table.

A chacune d'elles, un écrivain et neuf festivaliers.

Ainsi, tout le monde a pu partager... 

des expériences...

et un repas...

en toute convivialité !

Dimanche matin, à nouveau à la cuisine ! Avec Anne Dyson

L'après-midi, Victoria Corby parle de l'écriture....

avec ses lecteurs.

Le Lector'Studio émeut son public par sa lecture de textes sur le conflit israélo-palestinien.

Puis Colette Berthès témoigne de son engagement militant et comment cela l'a menée à l'écriture.

L'équipe se retrouve dimanche soir pour fêter ce premier Festival Littéraire à Parisot !

Un nouveau sommet atteint !

Aujourd'hui à 10h, ce sont 2700 Livres de Poche qui étaient comptabilisés ! Arriverons-nous aux 3000 d'ici demain soir ? Réponse samedi !

Dans tous les cas, ce sera une belle exposition à venir visiter tout au long de ce week-end !

Colette Berthès sort un guide secret de Toulouse

Colette Berthès est programmée le dimanche 13 octobre après-midi pendant notre Festival Littéraire où elle fera une conférence sur "Concilier engagement social, militance et écriture".
Ce sera également l'occasion de découvrir, parmi les autres, son tout nouveau livre : Le guide secret de Toulouse. Un article dans la Dépêche du Midi de ce jour lui y ai consacré : Guide secret de Toulouse de Colette Berthès. Lors du Festival Littéraire, vous aurez l'occasion de le faire dédicacer, celui-ci ou un autre de ces ouvrages présentés. A dimanche !

2500 Livres de Poche ! Et après ?

Ça y est, la mayonnaise a pris et chaque jour, c'est plusieurs dizaines de livres qui arrivent à la médiathèque ! Au dernier comptage, nous en étions à 2499... Combien en aurons-nous à l'ouverture de l'exposition samedi matin ? Les paris sont ouverts !

Food at the Festival

A literary festival held in France would be incomplete without some mention of food! It is an essential feature of Martin Walker’s series of novels Bruno, Chief of Police, of course. Bruno is an enthusiastic gourmet and an accomplished cook. He even has his own website -

Martin’s fictional descriptions of meals prepared and consumed by Bruno – no doubt based on personal experience – make your mouth water. He will talk about why France is such a happy hunting ground for writers. The foodie element must surely be a key ingredient.

Saturday 12^th October 5.00 pm at the Parisot Médiathèque.

From the fictional to the factual: Anne Dyson, founder of the very successful and well-known Greedy Goose cookery school in Ambeyrac (Aveyron) and author of The Greedy Goose Cookery Book will give a demonstration of some of her wonderful ideas for canapés to serve with apéritifs. This will be followed by a tasting. Copies of her cookery book will be on sale.

Sunday 13^th October 11.30 am at the Parisot Salle des Fetes.

Parisot in The Connexion

Great to see the Parisot mediatheque featured in the English language paper The Connexion this week, in a feature on setting up a community library.  It was the success of events run in the library with authors like Daniel Crozes (who is appearing this year) and Jacqueline Yallop (who we hope to secure for next year) that first spawned the idea for a literary festival.  It is the venue for several of the sessions at the festival so any of you who are not yet familiar with it will get a chance to check it out when you come to those.  It has a great selection of French and English books and is the place to go if you want to know what's going on in the local area.

Bookings for the English author events

You don't have to!   There is no need to book for any of the English language events at the Festival.  We have had several emails asking whether booking is necessary and so here is the official reply 'No'!

You would however need to book for the French workshops run by Céline Wagner (learn how to turn tell a short story in three cartoon pictures) and Julie Eugene (who will inspire children to write their own short story and produce their own book) on saturday, if you were interested in attending.
